Is Your Healthcare Insurance Government Compliant?
Your current healthcare plan may not qualify…
The new Healthcare Reform laws launched on March 23, 2010. This means that if you purchased your healthcare insurance plan before March 23, 2010, then you have an old healthcare plan that is “grandfathered out” of many new benefits.
You might be missing the free benefits in the new government compliant health plans:
- Free preventative and wellness care. Things like physicals, pap smears, mammograms and colonoscopies are all covered at 100% with no co-pay or deductible.
- Unlimited lifetime benefits with no annual maximums. Conversely, the old healthcare plans have a $1-5 million cap on lifetime coverage.
- If you have dependents, they are guaranteed acceptance with no exclusions or pre-existing conditions up until at least the age of 19.
And you might even be overpaying for your healthcare insurance:
There’s another new rule for medical insurance companies: the 80% Minimum Loss Ratio (MLR). For every $1 in premium that is collected, the insurance company must, by law, pay out $.80 in medical claims. If they don’t meet this requirement, then you get a rebate check in the mail!
…but that’s easy to fix.
An updated healthcare insurance plan is easy to obtain. Just request a quote and we’ll do all the work for you. We’ll make sure you’re covered from every angle and stay within your budget. You’ll get to take advantage of all these new benefits and possibly even get money back from the health insurance company.
